Brand New Feature - The Bee Hive Rumour Mill

When a young player scores 38 goals in 54 appearances in his first season for any non-league club, there is bound to be a certain amount of speculation linking him to teams higher up the league ladder.

Ramsey: Will he become a bee?
Dr Martens Eastern League club, Eastbourne Borough's young striker Scott Ramsey, fits into this category perfectly, for it was his 38 goals that certainly helped to enable the small Sussex club to gain promotion to the Dr Martens Premier League Division at the end of last season. (Eastbourne Borough finished second, just behind eventual champions Dorchester Town on goal difference).

Signed during the 2002 close season from recently relegated Nationwide Conference outfit, Dover Athletic, after beginning his formative years at Brighton & Hove Albion, Ramsey blossomed last season and has obviously caught the eye of Brentford manager Wally Downes.

Although money is tight at Griffin Park, Downes will be acutely aware of the lack of goals his team managed last season, especially during the later half of the campaign and will this summer surely be looking to add to his attacking options in preparation for next term.

The editor feels that there is a strong possibility that Brentford manager, Wally Downes will swoop into the non-league scene sometime during the summer months and purchase additional fire power up front for the coming season.
