After some impressive performances this season saw him being awarded the 'fans' player of the season, Sam Sodje is yet again being linked with a move away from Brentford FC with interested suitors apparently coming in the shape of West Ham and Blackburn.

West Ham who play in the Championship playoff final will be looking to strengthen if they reach the Premiership and Sodje is being lined up as a potential partner to Anton Ferdinand at the back.

However if the Hammers were not to be promoted then Sodje could replace Ferdinand as they will have to cut costs if they don't reach the top level.

After an indifferent campaign Blackburn will be looking to stabalise futher a very strong backline. Hughes is a fan of tall strong defenders and could look to add Sodje for his arial threat and goalscoring which Blackburn lack from set pieces.

Sodje said,

"Blackburn have made the most significant offer so far. West Ham's play-off game will determine how far I go with them."

Sam wants to play at the top level to hopefully be called up by Nigeria for their World Cup campaign in 2006 however the 26 year old has always said that he would too be happy to stay at Griffin Park.

The fee which Brentford would require is believed to be about £1,000,000 for a player who was brought into the club last year on a free transfer.

More news as soon as we recieve it.
