Save the fixtures

The FA have been e-mailing Unofficial fans web sites and demanding that fixture lists be removed because they are breaching copyright laws. They are threatening legal action. We acknowledge that these lists are copyright protected but argue that the information is in the interest of the fans. We also argue that our web sites are non-profit and are bearing absolutely no threat on the FA. They have failed to give us a valid reason for their actions. They are being ignorant, petty, pedantic and damn right pathetic and it is time they are revealed and stopped. This petition will attempt to do just
that, with the support of the fans through the petition and the media through publicity.

2. Current petition status
--------------------------

We currently have 680 signatures. It has gone quiet recently, only getting around 6 a day. But I am planning a huge marketing drive in a bid to reach the
fans and boost the numbers. The petition cannot be deemed even slightly serious until we get at least 15000 signatures. We do, however, have representation from the majority of the 92 league clubs as well as clubs worldwide and all the way down to non league status.

3. Media coverage
-----------------

Save the fixtures has featured in Aprils edition of 4-4-2 magazine, Guardian Unlimited newsletter The Fiver, as well as over 35 unofficial fans web sites displaying our banner.

4. The web site
---------------

The web site is being improved all the time. The latest features are:

- Fans View: This is the place to post your views about the FA and this surrounding issue.
- Newsletter: You can request a one off newsletter by entering your email address. This is a one off update sent by using auto responder technology.

The web site is also updated almost daily with regards to new additions. I currently have no backlog of signatures to add.

5. What next?
-------------

I am working with a successful and reputable freelance journalist in proving a press release and newspaper article that we are going to offer exclusively to The Guardian. If they are not interested in the story it will be offered to the PA. This will guarantee nationwide coverage.

Marketing Drive -As mentioned above I am planning a huge marketing drive. I am a Southampton FC fan living in London, so will be plastering both these cities with flyers at the end of this season and at the start of next season. I am seeking fans of clubs nationwide, any league status, to do the same. I will pay for all flyers to be produced and sent to you, on the basis that you will distribute them at your club on match days. If you are interested in this please get in touch by e-mailing scott@ultimatesaint.co.uk.

Thank you for reading and taking an interest. We will get there in the end!
