"Losing personal battles cost us" says Fitz

Speaking to the official website this morning Scott Fitzgerald admitted he was unhappy to have lost his first game in temporary charge of Brentford.

The game marked the continual losing run of Brentford which was extended to seventeen games following a 2-0 away defeat to Cheltenham,

"To concede a goal so early gave us a mountain to climb. If you don't defend or attack in either foot you're always going to be on the back foot."

Fitzgerald continued,

"I felt that we lost too many aerial battles all over the pitch, we needed to take care of our individual battles but I felt that they won more than us."

Fitzgerald however praised the work ethic and commitment of his side,

"I cant fault the players efforts; they ran and they chased. I think we need a little bit more quality on the ball and a bit more desire in both boxes. We've got  days now until our next game abd the boys will be on the training pitch quite a lot."

He also thanked the efforts of over 600 supporters who made the trip to Cheltenham,
