A Q and A with....

Last updated : 18 March 2005 By Smallsy
This week I spoke to chesterfield-mad.co.uk's Paul Fisher and he gave us his opinions on the upcomming game at Griffin Park.

Tell us a bit about yourself.....

My Name is Paul Fisher, I'm 29, I have been a Spireite since 1980.

What was the first game you attended....?

My First Match was Chesterfield v Exeter City Division Three, Last
Home Game of the Season 79-80 and we won 3-0 can't remember who scored though as I was only 4, all I remember was running around the Cross Street Terrace with my brother as there was no Exeter fans that day.

Whats the best/worst game you've been to...?
The best football match I have attended was the FA Cup Semi Final
against Middlesbrough April 13th 1997 which was a 3-3 draw with the
Spireites scoring in the last seconds of Extra Time to earn a replay after
we went 2-0 up. It was a classic game. I lived in Newcastle at the time and
traveled down with a Load of Boro fans they weren't talking to me after the
game for the return journey. The worst game was a 2-1 home defeat to Enfield in 1999 in the FA Cup ah the highs and lows. We should have sacked John Duncan after that game.

Where do you think you will finish this season....?
I would presume now that we have almost secured a League One place
that we shall finish mid-table although Roy Mcfarland has suggested that we
are going for the playoffs?? Ok if you say so Roy!

Where do you think Brentford will finish this season...?
I hope Brentford finish in the playoffs I quite like Brentford I
have no idea why though, even after you had do it yourself man slagging us
off last year at you're place.

Where did you finish last season...?
We somehow managed to finish one place above the relegation zone.
The final day situation was that we needed Tranmere to beat Grimsby and Port Vale to beat Rushden we also needed to beat Luton at Saltergate as well.
Vale quickly went 2up at Rushden so we didn't need to worry there but
Grimsby went 1 up at Prenton Park whilst we were still 0-0. Tranmere bagged
two quick goals and we were ecstatic and cheering Tranmere's name. The match at our place was heading for a draw when Glynn Hurst popped up in the 88th minute to dink home the winner and the place went mad, fans were running on the pitch the game was delayed and everything. It didn't do much for my ticker but I wouldn't have missed that game for the world.

Who do you think we should be wary of in Saturday's game...

We have so many talented players now. Maybe you should check out Ian Evatt who scored on the last minute at your place last season. He's had bids from Bristol City and Leicester on the table but we've turned them down. Oh
and Jamie Mcmaster a class act signed from Leeds United.
Who will you have to be most wary of...Stephen Hunt, I like him he scores in the last minute against "big" clubs like Sheffield Wednesday. Ha Ha.

What is your team like....?

We pass the ball very well, and we have a number of six foot plus
players. If we could cut out some silly mistakes we would be in the play
offs now. Roy Mcfarland and Lee Richardson have signed new two year deals.
The Spireite supporters are very pleased with them.

What is your prediction for saturday's game...

I'm hoping that we can win after the pressure is off us now as we
have just about secured a place in this division next season which was the
aim at the start of the season.
