Allen agrees contract extension with Tillen

After a teriffic performance against Walsall over the weekend and with the FA Cup tie against Chalton dominating the minds of most supporters Brentford boss Martin Allen today announced that Sam Tillen will be extending his contract.

Signing from Chelsea in the summer Tillen has proved to be an asset to the club and is extremely versetile providing width from the left, cover at full back and even operating in midfield whilst captain Ricky Newman was injured.

Therfore the boss has rewarded the player by choosing to use the option of a second year on his deal. Allen said,

"Sam has done very well stepping up to League one from playing in the Premier Reserve League."

"There is still big room for improvement in his game"

He praised the player saying,

"He has pace, he is getting more confident and will definetely be an asset for the future"

On the injury front Martin reported that Alex Rhodes played this morning and showed no ill effects of his injury,

"He was very positive and showed no ill effects during the game to his injury, fingers crossed this there will be no reaction"
