Allen making no excuses

Allen has asked for a positive repsonse again this weekend after last nights Carling Cup disaster
Brentford boss Martin Allen upset and disapointed when he spoke to the press today about last nights 5-0 defeat at the hands of Cheltenham, Allen began by saying,

"There are no excuses for such a disapointing result and performance last night. It is the first time my team has ever lost 5-0."

What angered the boss most was the way his team played,

"The goals we conceded were weak and sloppy, and in the second half we lacked cutting edge"

Allen however stated that everyone has to take a piece of the blame for last nights result,

"it is my responsibility to prepare the players, physically, tactically and most importantly mentally. Quite clearly last night was not up to the standards we set at this football club"

Looking ahead to the weekends double header the boss said,

"We now face two games in three days and this experience has made me even more determind. I stopped the bus on the way out of Cheltenham and spoke to every one involved, face to face and I expect them to learn from it but never forget."
