By defeating relegation threated Swindon at the County Ground yesterday Brentford secured themselves a place in the playoffs for the second season running.

With Southend losing and 2nd place Colchester continuing their revival, things at the top of League One are far from sorted. With two games left in the season Martin Allen is still looking to steal one of the automatic places from his Southern rivals and he told supporters he feels that his side are excellently placed to make the Championship without the necessity of the playoffs,

"We've been drawing too many recently and I haven't been pleased with the performances. But yesterday we but that right and I was delighted with the way the players applied themselves and the result their hard work achieved."

"This team has done brilliantly. A few years ago we were finding it hard to get in the playoffs and a year later we are still very much in with a shout of automatic promotion"

The boss did however warn against complaceny from his side expecting those above them to slip up and he urged his Bees side to take a chance on any oppertunity they recieved to make the top two placings,

"Now is the time where we look at things in perspective, stay focused and keep doing what we have been doing to get us this far and if we do that we'll keep picking up points."
