After their first defeat in six games, Brentford manager Martin Allen was undoubtable disapointed with the teams 1-0 loss to Port Vale at Griffin Park yesterday.

Not just from their own perspective but with Southend drawing and Colchester also slipping up the Bees had a chance to catch up on the leaders and not have to win their three games in hand to make sure they are still part of the top group come may.

Speaking to the website this morning Allen said,

"There's no hiding the fact that yesterday was paticularily disapointing. The second half was better but in both fourty fives we had enough chances to win the game"

"I think that we didn't compete or play anywhere near the standards that we set."

Allen commented that each player watched a tape of the game this morning before been given a chance to comment on the game and the boss was pleased with his players attitude,

"There is no time to dwell on it. We must learn from it and move on"

"In a ten month competition it is sometimes how you react to knock backs that shows what you ar all about."
