After returning from Swansea's White Rock Stadium with no points, yesterday Martin Allen seemed in cheery mood when he featured on BBC's Football Focus program this afternoon.

The Brentford boss was primarily asked about his sides current form and also his thoughts on the England managers job, as well as the difficult question as to who will be promoted this season from League One.

Allen was featured as part of the program showcasing the latest news on the England managers job, suprisingly not mentioned for the job the boss said,

"I think there are some good young English managers out there."

"We have plenty right throughout the leagues and when people question where the talent in our game is, they are simply not looking hard enough."

On the favourites for the job he said,

"Stuart Pearce has done an excellent job this season, he is young and learning but he has worked hard on his coaching and I think he would make an excellent choice."

Likewise on messers Curbishley and Allerdyce he said,

"They have both done great things this year and it's no suprise they have been mentioned."

"I spoke to Alan about the England vacancy when we met Charlton in the FA Cup and he said it would be a privallege if chosen but he is enjoying his work at Chalton. He's been there a long time"

Martin also spoke about the defeat last night saying,

"We're disapointed but not too downhearted,"

"We don't pop the champaigne when we win and we don't hide from it when we lose"

"We've got to take each game as it comes"

As far as the League One title race goes Allen refused to comment saying,

"I'm not going to be drawn in that!"

"We've got to keep it going. We're not making any predictions as to when we are in the playoffs or anything, at Brentford we just take things as they come and after our last game against Bournmouth that is when we will be counting the points and reviewing the league table."
