As the season drew to a close Martin Allen urged supporters to keep an open mind when matters concerning the bees came to light. Even though his team couldnt overhaul Colchester and Southend in the run in, Brentford he said are still 'in with a chance'.

The bees boss has been highly concentrated during the season and urged supporters to keep their eyes on the prize of an automatic promotion place, but now that Brentford have entered 'a lottery' his enthusiasm and confidence have not dwindled.

The boss begun,

"The playoff is a new competition - it's now sudden death."

Though he was upset by his sides performance he said,

"We can't keep playing well and coming away with nothing."

The manager wants to ensure that supporters take the attitude 'oh well at least we have the playoffs' Allen said,

"We have to learn from it, put it into practice and of course put it into our games."

"The support we recieved on saturday was once again fantastic. I must admit I was angry with the result but those feelings must now be put into good effect in a positive fashion to help these players over the next week."
