The League One season has produced some of the most exciting football in living memory for many football supporters and yet again this year we have seen some new talent arise to the fore.

In a bid to review some of this seasons wonderful performers I thought it would be fitting to start with one of Brentford's very own heros, Sam Sodje.

Known by very few outside the bounds of Griffin Park, Sam Sodje has risen to the become one of the best known and most well respected players in League One football with a series of excellent displays throughout the 2005/06 season.

Threatening in attacking situations and dominant defensively Martin Allen's signing of Sam Sodje has paid dividends throughout a sucessful season in both League and Cup for the Bees.

Weighing in with five goals in fourty five apperances and four assists for team mates the Nigerian defender has attracted interest from the Championship and Premiership in the transfer window and throughout the spring.

His reading of the game and quality in bringing the ball out from deep in his own half to start attacks, Sodje has played a major part in Brentford's success this season.
