'Sportsweek' the excellent Independent column chose to focus this week on the achievements of one Martin Allen.

The man they describe as having a 'Mad Dog reputation and a forthright opinion or two' Allen is quoted as being disapointed that England Manager Sven Goran Eriksson knew nothing about the club or his operations Allen said,

"If I earned £5 Million a year, I'd make sure I knew Brentford. I'd make sure I knew every player, every manager, every coach and every referee"

The article traces the background of the Brentford boss and mentions his achievements so far in his brief management career. Described as 'among the leading bunch of the new age manager' Allen said,

"If i left Brentford, it would have to be for something which would allow me to stand in from of all of my players and justify and have all the supporters say, good on you, off you go"

"I think I'll be at Brentford for a long time to come."

Speaking on other topics Allen discussed his fathers death, his future plans and his younger days.

If possible we will bring you some more of the Allen article tomorrow. However I would throughly recommend any Bees fan picking up a copy of the article as it is a teriffic read.
