Owusu gains Allen praise

After recent criticism regarding his form and ability, Martin Allen has come out today and defended the clubs striker Lloyd Owusu.

A goal in the last game against Bradford did little to appease the supporters who feel that Owusu is no longer cut out to be part of the Brentford starting eleven.

Returning from Reading in the summer Owusu was believed to be part of a two pronged spark capable of placing Brentford amongst the leaders in League One. Despite DJ Campbell departing for Birmingham in January and goals struggling to come since his departure, the club are still achieving their aim and indeed in recent months it has been the Brentford targetman finding the net when his club have needed him.

In his defense today Allen said,

"I think Lloyd is one of the keys to out success this season"

"When he plays well, the whole team plays well"

Re-itterating his importance to the Brentford cause Allen said,

"He is very important to us and he should know that"
