Brentford manager Martin Allen congratulated his players after a 'tremendous' start to the season was added to by the victory over Tranmere.

"I think we deserve to win four points but three wins is great and it was a fantastic performance"

Allen has been angry after the way his side played a week ago at Port Vale and had asked for a performance to spark the Griffin Park crowd and that is exactly what he recieved,

"The players deserve full credit. I was concerned there could have been a hangover for them and the supporters after missing out last year in the play-offs, but the players have responded very well and we have got to say it's a good start but there is such along way to go."

Allen added,

"We set high standards. I never like to lose games and I want the best from them not second-hand rubbish, so I gave them a reminder that this is how they can play."
