The week that was...9th - 15th May

This time last week Brentford fans were celebratig a tremendous victory over 2nd placed Hull City and enjoying the glory of finishing 4th in the League.

Shortly after 5pm we found out that it would be Sheffield Wednesday who we faced in the end of season playoffs in the battle to join Hull and Luton in the Championship next season.

After a hard week of preparation, tactics were plotted and plans were made and although Thursday's game didn't go exactly to these plans Bees fans still have a reason to be proud of their team and they can also keep certain amounts of confidence before Monday's return leg at Griffin Park.

The 1st leg at Hillsbrough wasn't the best performance by any stretch of the imagination however it wasn't the worst, as Martin Allen said, 1-0 isn't the worst result but it still leaves us with some work to do. An early goal on Monday will leave the game interestingly poised as Brentford need to show more of the attacking they posed in the 2nd half with the impressive Jay Tabb spearheading their attack.

For the first time that I can remember this season our defense looked disturbingly wobbly against Sheffield Wednesday we need to be more stable if we want to make it through and as a unit we need to be more of a threat as our goal efforts during the week were limited.

Our season is 90 minutes from ending and 180 from being the best ever...
