The week that was...

With the season well underway it has been yet another mixed bag week for the boys, last seasons cup exploits could not be repeated in the Carling Cup as we were thrashed by Cheltenham however on Saturday we scrapped to gain a point and our position back at the top of the League.

Martin Allen was suitably embarassed by the Cheltenham game however his words were very apt that the players should never forget what happened. Although it is an obvious statement if the Bees are to succeed, the complaceny which set in on Tuesday needs to be avoided in the next 9 months.

The Bees excellent start to the season could only have been predicted by the most optimistic supporter and the players seem to be thrilled with the way things are going. To ensure things keep ticking along nicely, Allen must continue to ensure competition for places to continue motivation in the camp and our great away form must be built upon.

Last season we were defeated in too many games away after the pace of the game was dictated to us however this year we seem to be playing our own game which is great to see.

Don't get too excited however fans as I'm sure the road as ever will be a rocky on with Brentford FC!
