Brentford
Nelson - Played ok. Didnt really have much to do except pick the ball out of the net. Out of position for the first and well beaten for the second. Distribution was quality but could not be capitalised on.

O'Connor - Tested the keeper well with a good free kick but wasted posession too often when the Bees were chasing the game. Needed to improve his crossing ability and attack the space afforded to him by a lack of defensive duties if he wanted to be more influencial.

Sodje - Well below par but still a solid performer. Coped well with the tall Fallon and helped out arially from set pieces though didnt do enough to create chances. If this was Sodje's last game for Brentford he will be disapointed with the goodbye display.

Turner - Much improved on recent performances and solid in the defensive unit. Won several headers and kept it simple in posession. Looked to be troubled by the speedy Knight in early exchanges but coped well after the break.

Frampton - Not given many oppertunities to puch forward he was largely ineffective. Wasted posession with aimless long balls and was caught out for the second goal.

Tillen - Much like left sided collegue Frampton, wasnt given much to do and was wasteful in attacking posession. Not positive enough and didnt play in enough crosess to be influencial.

Smith - Had a solid first half but was drawn into the centre because the way the game was going. Worked hard in attempting to win back posession but couldnt create much in the way goalscoring oppertunities.

Brooker - Looked good when he came on, giving the bees some influence, but his influence faded when the Brentford chances did not come. Looked positive in attacking areas but was not supported well enough to turn that posession into goals.

Newman - Leggy and tired, probably the reason he was subbed. Had very little influence and didn't look up to the pace of the game.

Willock - Battled hard up front though wasnt given a chance by Brentford's style of play of by excellent defensive play by Swansea. Needed to seize upon knockdowns more urgently as service was very limited.

Pratley - Couldnt influence the game as much as he'd have liked because of poor play in the midfield by Brentford. Wanted to be positve but was given very few options. Should have been more dominating to justify his reputation.

Tabb - Not up to his usual standards, Tabb was often left as the only positive Brentford influence. Set pieces were good though his runs and dribbles were monitored closely by opponents after an impressive first leg.

Rhodes - Failed to impress of to justify a starting place next season. Didnt use his pace to full effect and was left with very little service. With the style of play Brentford have he was never going to be influencial, playing up against tall defenders.

Rankin - Battled hard in the first half but didnt use his experience to drag the game Brentfords way. Forced a couple of half chances but was kept very quiet by a good defensive display.
