Conceeding their first goals of the season to opponents Brighton away from home the Bees battle back through skipper Kevin O'Connor and breathed a sigh of relief when Chris Moore netted in injury time to secure the Griffin Park a point at the end of a tough week.
Starting badly Brentford fell behind and looked inferior to Brighton, a relegated side from last year who will be looking to bounce straight back. Rosenior's young guns however were brave in their approach and the managers faith in his team paid off in the 93rd minute with Moore's second away goal in two games.
What the manager said?
Rosenior admitted himself that Brighton would be one of the toughest tasks his side faced in the early months and was pleased to come away with a point,
"We were poor in the first half but I thought we improved as the game went on"
Speaking on his captain he said,
"I spoke to Kevin before the game saying that he needed to be big on occasions like this. His experience is valuable and so was his goal so close to half time."
He was also full of praise for his opponents,
"Brighton were exactly what I expected, big, strong, bold and tough to break down. Not many teams will take points off them this year. Im so pleased that we managed to get ourselves back in the game after making a bad start."
What the players said?
The players were obviously elated with the draw and club captain Stuart Nelson said,
"I thought the boys did well today."
"We made a bad start but our spirit helped us to get back into the game."
Watching from the sidelines for most of the game Alex Rhodes said,
"It feels like a victory when you get back into the game so late."
"They shocked us early but I knew we had it in us to recover."
What the fans said?
Just over 500 fans made their way to Brighton today and they were in full voice throughout,
"The team looked to be running out of steam already today" said one fan,
"We were rescued by a late mistake from them and I was far from happy with the performance."
Steve Elliott a Bees season ticket holder said,
"It was always going to be a tough game and we did our best to make it even more difficult with a rubbish start"
"Once we got going though we looked a much better team and a point was the least we deserved."
