Brentford this afternoon extended their winning run to four games with a hard fought victory over lowly Bristol City.

The North West side made it tough for the visiting Bees but in the end a Lloyd Owusu goal was enough to decide the fate of the three points. The win places Brentford excellently and with the visit of Southend on Tuesday the Bees have a chance to claw themselves futher towards the Shrimpers with a good result.

What the manager said?

Martin Allen was happy with the way his side performed this afternoon,

"It was a tough game for us, Bristol are a good side and they certainly tested us"

The Bees manager suggested that the scoreline was slightly fortunate but admitted that his side worked too hard to come away with nothing,

"A draw would have been a fair result, but we're obviously happy that we've managed to come away with the three points"

"It sets it up nicely for the Southend game on Tuesday and then we've got the added bonus of the other competition next week"

What the players said?

After the win dragged them up to fourth the Bees players we logically happy with the points, Darren Pratley spoke first,

"It was an excellent game today and I'm happy with the win"

Unused sub Marcus Gayle echoed his thoughts,

"Three points was what we came to get and three points was what we achieved, job done in my opinion"

What the fans said?

Just under 800 fans travelled to Ashton Gate today to see the win and a few spoke, Bees supporter Russell Chrislet said,

"It was brilliant to get the result but I think we were slightly fortunate to come away with three points."

Disapointed Bristol fans felt hard done by and one told me,

"this is the story of our season. We didnt start well and by the time we started to get a foothold in the game we let in a goal and t was too much to claw back"
