Stuart Nelson - Played solidly in goal and was unlucky with the three that beat him as he could really do nothing to stop any of them. Looked far more positive than in recent performances and we commanding on set pieces.

Kevin O'Connor - Foreged well down the right hand side and worked well as part of the Brentford unit. Was exposed defensively by poor tracking from his midfielder.

Michael Turner - Had a fairly average game. Looked not up to the pace of the game and was exposed to the pace of Darren Bent and Jerome Thomas too often. Still has a lot to do before he convinces many that he is a first team regular.

Sam Sodje - Did very well but struggled defensively when exposed to Premiership class players. Looked good bringing the ball forward and always posessed a threat at set pieces.

Andrew Frampton - Like O'Connor he did well in attacking situations but found it difficult to cope with Charlton's wingers. He often had to deal with the runs of Young and Thomas which made is job very difficult.

Darren Pratley - Showed why Fulham regard him so highly. Looked confident with the ball at his feet and was not afriad toput his foot in to make a tackle.

Ricky Newman - Led the team with a captain's performance. Made countless tackles and set up numerous attacks. Without the ball he and Pratley found it difficult to track Charlton's runs and cope with the extra man.

Isaiah Rankin - Came on and did well, deservedly got the Bees goal and gave a different dimension to the team when they'd run out of ideas.

Sam Tillen - Played without many frills and without much chance to show what he can do. Worked effectvely in attacking situations but needed to track back an awful lot, leaving him to create far too man times from deep positions.

Jay Tabb - Was tracked well by the Charlton midfielders and found it hard to find space, when he did however was positive and tried to make chances.

Paul Brooker - Came on and worked effectively, worked more from a central role and his dribbling ability to relieve the pressure Brentford were under.

Marcus Gayle - As a targetman did well for brentford holding the ball up but didn't recieve enough of the ball in dangerous areas to become a strong influence.

Ryan Peters - Looked sprightly when he came on and showed no fear when he was introduced. Had an oppertunity which he could have made more of but this experience will be good for him.

Lloyd Owusu - Worked tirelessly all game and helped to create defensive uncertainty. Used his pace and strength well to make several chances and had to be monitored throughout.
