Despite losing the game at the Valley and having their FA Cup hopes distinguished by Premiership Charlton, there was one winner yesterday, competition winner Chris Swatton.

The Bees season ticket holder was selected by Martin Allen to join himself, his staff and his playes on the trip to the Valley. He was seen offering encouragement throughout the game and was also given chance to speak to the players at half and full time.

Speakig on match of the day he said,

"It has been an excellent experience. A once in a lifetime oppertunity fell to me and I'm so grateful."

"It was wonderful to meet the players and be able to speak to them and hear their thoughts about the game and the way things are going at the club."

On his chance to be able to take a position in the technical area he said,

"I didn't have a lot to say when I was given the floor by Martin Allen. I just tried to encourage, I just wanted to do my bit"

On the game itself he said,

"The third goal was a blow to our chances as it came just after half time when we came out fighting."

It was certainly good fun and something I will never forget."
