It was a lovely spring day as newly crowned Champions Luton took on Brentford at Kenilworth Road.
Luton started strongly and were took the lead in the 5th minute when Ahmet Brkovic met Paul Underwood’s cross in the sixth minute. (Luton 1-0 Brentford)

Steve Howard was booked for a foul on Kevin O’Connor very soon after the goal as Luton looked to extend their advantage. John Salako had Brentford’s first shot on goal from 25 yards but missed. Darren Pratley was booked for unsporting behaviour.

Brentford came back into the game and Eddie Hutchinson had a header over the bar and kept pushing for the equaliser that would send them up into the play-offs if results went their way.
Brentford found their equaliser in the 20th minute. John Salako’s cross was met by the head of Sam Sodje who found the net. (Luton 1-1 Brentford).

Brentford found renewed confidence in themselves and pushed forward for the second goal. They managed to get that second goal through Deon Burton striking home from 18 yards after a delightful ball by Michael Turner. (Luton 1-2 Brentford).

Brentford kept pushing for that third goal which could have put the game beyond reasonable doubt but were unable to make that count. Brentford had Hutchinson, Frampton and Burton booked for fouls on Ahmet Brkovic twice and Kevin Foley.

The half ended 2-1 in Brentford’s favour.

Luton came out all guns blazing as they were on course for 100 points if they won today. A Paul Underwood free-kick hit the post. Sol Davies was booked for a challenge on Marcus Gayle.

Luton kept up their push on goal but Stuart Nelson kept them at bay. Brentford brought on Matt Harrold for Stewart Talbot.

Steve Howard had a header which hit the woodwork and Warren Feeney was taken off to be replaced by Rowan Vine.

Luton kept up their attacking play and were rewarded in the 83rd minute. Michael Turner was adjudged to have fouled Steve Robinson and Kevin Nicholls put away the penalty. (Luton 2-2 Brentford)

Luton brought on Enoch Showumni and the move paid dividends after 5 minutes when he headed Luton into the lead from a Steve Robinson corner. (Luton 3-2 Brentford)

It got even worse for Brentford as Steve Robinson finished off the game with a 20 yard shot after a Rowan Vine pass. (Luton 4-2 Brentford)

The game ended 4-2. Luckily for Brentford both Hartlepool and Borunemouth lost, Bournemouth like Brentford in the 90th minute, which means that Brentford are 2 point away from securing a play-off spot with a game in hand to in-form Wrexham on Tuesday.
