Aftermath of the HUll Game

A Jay Tabb winner in the 82nd minute capped off a great season for all of the Brentford squad.

The game hadn't started well when the Tigers took a 1st minute leas through Leon Cort however the Bees recovered very well to fight back through a Jerome Sobers header set up by Tabb who then finished a wonderful solo run to help Brentford to 4th place.

What the manager said?

Martin Allen was delighted with his 'reserves' performance against a full strength Hull City,

"Today has been one of the greatest performances I've seen as a manager, it was a great credit to the boys that they didnt fold after we went one nil down so early. Everyone was excellent today it's impossible to single out any player, this performance has summed up our best play this season, we've proved that we can compete with the best"

As far of the playoffs goes the boss added,

"Of course I'm looking forward to it all four teams in the competition are excellent and we are going to have to be at our best to get any kind of result"

What the squad said?

Jay Tabb was thrilled with his own personal performance and also that of his team,

"We battled hard today with many young lads in the team it was a tough task to come back from 1-0 down but w just showed what we can do, we shouldn't fear anyone going into the playoffs"

Scott Fitzgerald also backed the Bees in the playoffs,

"We're going into the playoffs with a decent run of form so I'd say we have a good shot at winning them, our consisency this season hasnt exactly been great but we deserve a shot at making the Championship"
