Speaking to the press ahead of the game Martin Allen began winding down his pre season programme by suggesting that Bees fans would be happy simply to beat the drop this season.

Speaking to www.teamtalk.com Allen said,

"Of course, higher expectations have come from everyone outside our club because of what we achieved last season."

Narrowly beaten in the playoff semi final last year and predicted to finish in mid table by the bookies this season Allen believes that supporters have very good memories,

"Everyone inside the club is thrilled by the way he have some forward but our fans must remember how close we were to relegation 16 months away. This league has become very tough and there will not be an easy game over the next nine months."

Ahead of a game against Woking today and a game against Scunthorpe starting the season next week Allen said,

"The pressure doesn't bother me at all. What everyone in the team wants to do is get to 51 points which we feel is needed to avoid relegation as quickly as possible"
