With just over a week gone since Brentford season was ended by playoff defeat and double strikes from Leon Knight in the semi final, Martin Allen looks set to stay at Brentford for another season despite his dismay at the way his team failed to reach the Championship via the automatic playoff places or the playoffs.

Allen admitted last week that he was confident of a Brentford win in Cardiff, a final which the Bees did not even make, and because he was so confident he failed to plan for another season in League One.

This looked set to put Allen's future in doubt but it seems as though the disapointment has futher spured him on to help Brentford step up to the next level.

Clearing out his squad last week rumour has it that Allen has several targets in mind which he will be looking to bring in over the Summer months,

"I'm sure all the supporters still have a tinge of sadness and disappointment,"

Their playoff defeat seemingly spells the end of Griffin Park career for top players such as Jay Tabb and Sam Sodje who have attracted attention from other clubs but Allen said,

"I know we've got a very busy time ahead to rebuild, and put something back together, and I hope I can build something again to keep it all going."
