Allen says he and his players can't wait for the season to get started.
Brentford manager Martin Allen was speaking to the press today after his scouting mission to watch Scunthorpe play a friendly in the North of England.

The boss was speaking after a his side had a conformtable 1-0 win yesterday after a disapointing defeat against Yeading on Monday. This came after arguably his clubs best performance in a 0-0 draw against Charlton.

The boss said,

"Obviously it was disapointing to lost our unbeaten record but I still can't wait for the new season to start. i'm happy with the players we have here."

Brentford's campaign starts at home to the Irons next week and Allen said,

"We gave a good account of ourselves against Charlton, and if the players carry on like that we will do quite well."

Martin believes that his side is in contention of gaining a playoff place once again but he assured us that he is first looking to assure safety before heading to the heights of the top six.
