Updating his column on the official website this morning, Martin Allen hardly mentioned the football club at all. It seemed fitting on the morning after these dreadful attacks on London that life and football seem to have been put into perspective by those in the game.

Allen spoke of his difficult day at work saying,

"We had to cancel afternoon training and everybody got sent home, then had the difficult job of collecting my son who was on work experience in the city"

The boss then offered his sympathies to families of victims,

"A lot of people have lost their lives and an awful lot of people have been injured mentally and physically, there is not a great deal anyone at this football club can do about it"

Despite that Allen did say that if anyone who is hospitalized could benefit from a visit from the players then a member of their family can contact th club for arrangements to be made.

Allen spoke positivly summing up saying,

"I see no other way than to get back to work and carry on with our jobs and reponsibilities"

"I am aware thatfootball can bring happiness into peoples lives and that is what we will set out to do tomorrow against Staines Town"
