Allen plays down Millwall link

Brentford boss Martin Allen yesterday dismissed speculation linking him with the vacant Millwall manager's post.

Stoke coach Dave Kemp is believed to have rejected the chance to succeed Dennis Wise at the Den, and Allen is being touted around as a potential 2nd choice as the highly regarded coach has sucessfully led the Bees into the League One play-offs.

But Allen spoke to the official website and has distanced himself from the position.

"It's nothing" he said,

"My only focus is on Brentford. Predictably because of the sucess I've had this season my name has been thrown into the ring by the papers, the same way it has been done with the Watford and Portsmouth jobs. I don't know where people come up with these ideas."

Joking then he added,

"I was even linked with the job at Real Madrid a few months ago!"
