After being labeled as a long ball team last season, Martin Allen's Brentford have had praise heaped on them from all sides after achieveing a more astheticly pleasing style of football during the current season.

Currently four unbeaten in the League the Bees play Port Vale on Saturday as well as having three games in hand which could put them clear.

On his sides play this season Allen said,

"We have tried to encourage our players to play with more creativity, flair and confidence,"

An aspect of the game Brentford were criticised for was their sometimes 'rough-housing' but effective style of game and the boss is pleased that they have built on the strengths of the team

"We have done a lot more work in training on keeping possession. It's a big challenge to do that half-way through a season, but the players responded very well.

"Now we are trying to play more football than in the past."
