Brentford manager Martin Allen has been a very busy coach this week, signing two players and completing a UEFA course in just 5 days.

However the Bees boss did find some time to study his clubs early season fixtures and gave his reactions to the press today,

"It's a tough start" said the manager, after being presented with a home game against Scunthorpe who are a fairly unknown quantity after being promoted from League Two last season.

"It's never easy to play a team that has been promoted in your first game"

"It doesnt get much easier after that either as we face two tough away tasks in Chesterfield and at Port Vale."

Allen also feels that Brentford's start will be important to his teams progress this season,

"Last season we had an average start but were largely inconsistent, we'll be taking a game at a time but everybody will be looking to get points on the board as quickly as possible and we first one to achieve 51 points to make sure we stay up then we can progress from there"
