Brentford have bolstered their defences further still, ahead of the 2009/10 League 1 season. Andy Scott has signed 24 year old centre-back Leon Legge from Isthmian Premier Division outfit Tonbridge Angels.

Legge played 39 games for the Angels last season and scored 10 goals. Initially he has signed a 1 year contract at Griffin Park, with the option of a further 1 year. After training with the Brentford players earlier he told the BFC official website: "They're a great bunch of lads and I can't wait for the season to start".

Leon will be joined at the back by 27 year old centre-back Mark Phillips who has also signed a 1 year deal with the option of a further 1 year. Lambeth born Mark, who's former clubs are Millwall and Darlington on loan, played over 30 games for the Bees last season and was offered the deal at the end of the championship winning season.

The recent signing of Dagenham & Redbridge defender Danny Foster means three defenders are now on new deals, while the club are still waiting to know if Alan Bennett will sign the deal offered last week by Andy Scott.
