Brentford boss Leroy Rosenior, still searching for players ahead of tomorrows transfer deadline has stated that he believes the congested fixture list has prevented him from improving his squad.

The bees chief is unhappy that his club have faced six games in August, will face eight in September but onl play for in October.

"It doesnt make sense," he told PA Sport

"If we want to improve out football at all levels we have to organise the fixtures list better."

"I know we have been dealt the same hand as every other club in League One, but it shouldn't be such a slog as early as August and September.

"The Premiership clubs have three matches followed by an international break - and they, unlike us, have massive squads. I don't understand why our fixtures can't be spread a little more evenly.

"We have a young squad who we want to work with and develop on the training pitch, but we will not have a chance in September. The number of games means it is impossible to do that work."
