Bees boss pleased with fighting spirit

Having recovered from defeat on Monday to claim a decent away point against Bradford, Scott Fitzgerald was understandably pleased with the efforts of his team.

Upset about the award of a penalty in the dying moments which helped his opponents claim a 1-1 draw Fitzgerald chose to praise his side rather than claim that luck ran against them,

"The work rate was very good and a couple of times when the ball was bouncing around the box, the boys were prepared to throw their bodies in front of it. A few weeks ago we didn't have that but I thought we showed real fight in both halves."

Fitzgerald commented that he was 'happy' with a point but was obviously disapointed that his struggling side did not claim all three,

"I thought it was a decent game considering both sides are down at the bottom."

"We set up to win every game, I think that's the way forward for all the teams down here. Points are vital"

Looking ahead to the Bees next game, Scott commented on the challenge of facing League leaders Scunthorpe,

"It doesn't matter what anyone else does, we know how many points we have to get."

"People said this would be a tough place to come but we came away with a point."

The manager joked,

"Nice easy one next week against Scunthorpe!"

"But we're looking forward to the challenge."
