Brentford and their manager Scott Fitzgerald today were delighted to announce the signing of 32 year old striker, Neil Shipperley.

Thanks to money raised by bees fans through the fighting chance appeal and generous donations Brentford were able to capture the player who was only just recently released by Sheffield United on a four month contract.

Needless to say the striker could be just what Brentford need and having make over 500 first team appearances for a combination of Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Barnsley, Crystal Palace, Barnsley and Wimbledon he will bring excellent experience to the struggling and youthful Brentford.

Scott Fitzgerald was delighted this afternoon as he spoke to the official website,

"In respect of signing a striker it's the culmination of many long hours work."

"It's no secret we've been waiting very patiently for our man and there was a sense of relief when Neil finally put pen to paper."
