Attempting to end their winless streak in their final game of 2006, Brentford today completed the signing of Nathan Abbey.

New manager Scott Fiztgerald's plans were thrown in to disaray following the injury to Clark Masters against Millwall. With the absense of first choice Stuart Nelson and only youth available to him, Fitzgerald was given special dispensation to bring in the 28 year old who also played for the Bees in pre season.

"We were given special permission by the football league and the loan will be for a seven day period until the transfer window opens." said Fitzgerald.

"Nathan has experience and has been a regular for Torquay this season, he's signing has taken place with immediate effect."
