Bees offer contract to former Reading Defender

Out of contract former Reading Defender Alan Bennett has had talks with Brentford boss Andy Scott whilst in Ireland.

Scott, who is hopeful of persuading Benno to sign a contract with last season's league 2 champions said: "We've had some very positive talks. We've been over to Dublin to speak to him and let him know what our plans are for the football club, for him and for myself".

Alan was ever present for Brentford in over 50 matches last season and even had a brief spell as team Captain.
