BEES UNITED LAUNCH £1 MILLION POUND APPEAL

Last updated : 21 May 2002 By Bees United press release
This will go a long way to stop the club going out of business as current Brentford FC Chairman Ron Noades has recently re-iterated that he will not fund the club beyond the summer.

John said: “The appeal goes out to everyone in our community, not just supporters, and is based on the club's cash requirements for the next 12 months. The alternative is administration in July or liquidation in October.”

“We (Bees United) want to demonstrate to Manager Steve Coppell that we do have ambition and offer him the opportunity to stay, and to keep the players he wants who are out of contract.”

Bees United, who have a legal option to purchase the controlling interest in Brentford Football Club by September 2002, was launched in April 2001.

The main aims and objectives of BEES UNITED are:

1) To raise funds for investment and

2) To gain at least one place on the board of directors of Brentford FC.

The latter has been achieved already.
