Board release official statement

Shortly after the final whistle went at Griffin Park, news began spreading that Leroy Rosenior had left his post in charge of Brentford Football Club.


After almost seven hours, the official website have finally confirmed the rumours that Leroy Rosenior's contract was infact terminated with immediate effect.

Despite only being put in charge of the club in June, the board decided directly after today's game to terminate the contract of Rosenior after a run of 16 games without a win.

The club also confirmed that Youth Team Manager Scott Fitzgerald has agreed to look after the first team in the short term and the club are 'actively searching for a new manager.

The official website quoted the board in saying, 'The board with it to be placed on the record that they have the upmost respect for Leroy Rosenior and they felt that he went about his task with enthusiasm and intelligence. However it was felt that a change had to me made now to try and stem any further damage to the clubs ambitions.'
