Beginning the first day of his official reign as Brentford Manager this morning Terry Butcher will have some big decisions to make ahead of the new season.

For the first time in two years the Bees failed to make the playoffs and a miserable campaign of relegation despite topping the table early on has seen them go through three managers and face a potential blow in losing top players.

Former England defender Terry Butcher however has told supporters,

"We will look at players contracts in the next few weeks. I do not believe we have to let anyone go unless it is my wish."

Butcher also believes Brentford can get out of League Two at the first time of asking if the start of well,

"If we can get in the right players to do a good job for us, allied with the good young players we have coming through, Brentford could be a big success story next year."

"There is a huge desire to get out of League Two straight away and get back to where the club were, which was competing in the League One play-offs in 2005 and 2006."

The new manager also backed his Chairman who has come under fire from supporters this season and admitted that a financial boost could come for Brentford if they make the large step back towards the second tier of English football,

"Brentford is a well-run club. There are a lot of people out there who would put in more money if Brentford were on the cusp of getting into the Championship."
