With one game left to save their season as 2:59pm Brentford's players must have realised that in the next ninety minutes they needed a minor miracle for their season to finish today.

It began well with Sodje scoring the opener, but yet more frustration set in as twice the away side were pegged back from a goal up. With them needing to win it mattered not that Colchester drew because Brentford did not gain the three points they would have needed. So ending another season with te lottery of the playoffs once again holding Brentford's fate.

The last minute equaliser from Steve Fletcher rubbed salt into the wound as once more Brentford were denied a win and vital points by losing concentration near the end.

What the manager said?
Martin Allen and his players awknowleged the away support at the end of the game and said,

"It wasnt to be in the end. We came here looking for two incredible things to happen and in the end we got neither. It's been afantastic season so us and we have the minium of two games to cap it with an excellent finish"

He stated his delight as his teams performance,

"Once more my players were teriffic but we lost concentration at the vital time and that cost us. To many people this will be a forgetable game, but I am proud of what the players have achieved a draw against a good side is always creditable"

Entering the playoffs for the second season running Allen said,

"Well go into the playoffs with a one in four chance, i don't think we can take anything for granted."

What the players said?
Noticably disapointed that once again they had been pegged back at the finish Brentford's most improved player Andrew Frampton said,

"We performed well and we had enough chances to win"

"In the end it wasnt to be and we have to accept that over the 42 games we've drawn too many games and this is why were are in a lottery situation not having the next two weeks to relax"

Goalkeeper Stuart Nelson added,

"Promotion aside, it's a disapointing result. We came here looking for the win and a late goal has once again ruined the day."

What the fans said?
George Bankwell a Bees fan said,

"Yet again we forgot that games last 90 minutes and we got punished, never mind that Yeovil couldnt do us a favour we should have won this game."

He added,

"The playoffs will be a struggle, i dont think I could call them, all four teams are evenly matched and it will depend on luck on the day to decide who prospers."
