Brentford today showed title form as a deserved 1-0 win was hard to come by at home against MK Dons. The side widely tipped for relegation by the pundits posed Brentford with a tough task before Kevin O'Connor's penalty ensured all three points went to the Bees.

What the manager said?

Martin Allen was needless to day happy with the three points but warned his team over future complacencies,

"I think we thought the game was already won before the 90 minutes was over today. Of course this is the kind of game you expect to win but you still have to show respect to your opponents and earn the right to beat them, it's not possible to just turn up and expect to roll them over."

Allen however said that he believed his team deserved the victory overall,

"We definately deserved the points, they battled hard but we created enough chances to win the game by a bigger margin than we did"

"More goals may have been tough but this is the type of digging in style we need to develop"

What the players said?

Marcus Gayle was once again delighted to get the three points,

"It certainly wasn't an easy game but we deserved to sneak it"

"We should probably have scored three or four but at the end of the season it will oly be the three points which register"

Andrew Frampton also had a word with us,

"It wasn't the easiest of games to play in, that was more like the style of play we did well with last season."

Sam Sodje praised his sides performance,

"I think the lads did well today in tough conditions against a physical side, next week we'll be facing a different kind of task and we'll have to adapt ourselves to the challenge"

What the fans said?

Phillip Johnson a Bees fan from Camden said,

"I expected to win today but I didn't think we'd have to scrap so hard for it, they came with a game plan and we had to fight hard to make sure we won"

Glen Stevens from MK said,

"I thought we were hard done by with the penalty, maybe we should have made some more from our chances but I think with this result we should look to move forward and upwards"
