Another good point against an excellent Gillingham side came Brentford's way this afternoon.

The visitors scoring following a somewhat comical turn of events involving Stuart Nelson and Sam Sodje, however a second half fight back gave The bees a deserved point as Ryan Peters netted a simply header from close range.

As usual after the game we spoke to some of the participants.

What the manager said?

Martin Allen was in thoughtful mood when we spoke to him today,

"I'm pleased that we showed our toughness again and picked up a point but I'm disapointed that we didnt make it three"

"At home we are tough to beat and I think any team will find us a difficult proposition"

"We now have to prepare to face the League 'big boys' and once again prove that we can cut it with the best"

What the players said?

Marcus Gayle was first to speak to us,

"The boys showed that they can play on par with any team at this level, Gillingham we unlucky that they didnt get a penalty in the first half but their goal was a touch fortunate"

"Ryan deserved his goal and we deserved a point in the end"

Goal scorers Ryan Peters told us,

"I was pleased to get on let alone get my name on the score sheet, ive been working hard in training and when the boss told me I was going on I wanted to bring us back into the game for him and for the fans"

"I must thank them for the reception I got, it was an amazing atmosphere and I hope I can play more of a part in keeping this team flying high"

What the fans said?

Brentford fan Steven told us that he still backs Stuart Nelson despite his error,

"Ok so he's made two high profile errors in crucial games but at the end of the day he was our clubs top performer last year and I think he will definately save us more points than he'll lose us"

John also gave us his verdict on the penalty,

"Of course it was a penalty! Tabby was lucky to get away with it, but no one can say they didnt get their reward for perceverance as that goal was pure comedy"

Gillingham fan Jill told us,

"I think a point was a fair result, id have felt unlucky if we'd lost but very lucky and undeserving if we'd won"
