Brentford's players gave it their all in the FA Cup yesterday and their manager praised his sides spirit but who exactly led the Bees to the victory.

Nelson - Unlucky with the goal from Arca but looked solid throughout, after some questionnable performances did enough to claim back his number one shirt.

Mousinho - Started nervously but came into his own once the Bees started playing well. Cleared his lines well and didn't at all look like he was playing his first FA Cup tie.

Sodje - As ever was an imposing force. His performance was encaptulated by his excellent run down the wing which could have led to a penalty, was caught out a few times in defense but using his pace and strength covered back and helped the Bees to victory.

Turner - Struggled to come to terms with the pace of the game but adjusted once he was given a telling by his manager. Played his role excellently and dealt with the dangerous Arca and Stead effectively.

Frampton - Marshalled his defensive area well and looked composed upon the ball. Didn't offer much going forward but was solid and dependable when it came to holding his line.

Tillen - Filled into the left wing position well, covered Frampton well and although he offered several good options out wide, struggled to deliver anything in the final third.

Newman - Held the defensive line and made some tough tackles but was bypassed several times by long balls from the back. Distrubition was inconsistent but worked well with his midfield collegue allowing him to get forward.

Tabb - Had another tremendous game and proved that he could play at the higher level if required. Excellently complimented with Newman and was at the heart of all things good in the Brentford side. Helped keep the tempo high and put Sunderland on the back foot from the first minute.

Rankin - Showed his experience with a concise game but never really threatened to score. Again his distribution was questionable but his effort could not be faulted. Came inside too often as his pace would not allow him to get past an opponent.

Owusu - Though Campbell will get the praise, Owusu's contribution must be awknowledged. Won headers all game and his physical presense made Sunderland aware he was around.

Campbell - The goal scorer. The hero. The star man, Campbell's performances was tremendous throughout, he closed down defenders chased lost causes and got what he deserved. His pace as a threat all game and he showed how much he really enjoys the FA Cup.
