Downes: Happy
Bees' manager Wally Downes was in a happy mood after seeing his side defeat play-off chasing Luton Town to record a first league victory in 2003, according to the official Nationwide website.

Brentford boss Wally Downes was delighted after seeing his side claim their first league win of 2003, with a 1-0 victory at Luton Town.

Rowan Vine's goal five minutes after the break at Kenilworth Road sealed the points and Downes was pleased with his players' attitude in the triumph.

He commented: "All our players work hard for one another. We got to half time with the score still level and that gave us a reasonable platform to push on.

"I asked them to try and get a goal and the one we got was tremendous. Having got our heads in front we then toughed it out and we deserved to win.

"In fact, I thought we might have had another goal or two after we scored."

The Bees move on to face Huddersfield Town at Griffin Park on Tuesday night.
