Brentford predicted lineup vs Leeds United - Premier League

Brentford travel to Leeds United's Elland Road on Sunday afternoon in the midst of a worrisome run of form.

The Bees have claimed all three points in just one of their last seven Premier League matches, losing five. Thomas Frank's 'bus stop in Hounslow' haven't endured a worse sequence since the Dane's dreadful opening run of fixtures after succeeding Dean Smith in 2018.

Here's the lineup Frank may deploy to arrest Brentford's slump.

Brentford predicted lineup vs Leeds United - Premier League

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Alvaro Fernandez (GK) - David Raya's stand in has conceded eight goals in just three away appearances since replacing his injured compatriot.

Charlie Goode (CB) - 16 minutes into his Premier League career the former Northampton defender had already conceded a penalty. Injuries have ensured Goode was afforded time to display some nominative determinism, though results haven't entirely swung his way.

Pontus Jansson (CB) - Facing the club that he departed in the summer of 2019 having been burned by the Championship playoffs - only to lose in the final with Brentford the following year - Jansson and Leeds (and Brentford) can have a reunion in the top flight.

Ethan Pinnock (CB) - One of six Brentford players to have started every Premier League game this season - a tally no team in England's top flight can better.

2. Midfielders & wing-backs

Sergi Canos (RWB) - The most-used player during Frank's three years at the helm isn't set to relinquish that status anytime soon.

Frank Onyeka (CM) - One of only two players in Brentford's squad to have experienced the apex of club football, the former Champions League midfielder probably doesn't dwell on his record in the competition (played six, won zero).

Christian Norgaard (CM) - The Premier League's most prolific tackler is a key reason why a freshly promoted side can boast a top-half defensive record.

Vitaly Janelt (CM) - One of ten unique Premier League goalscorers for Brentford this season - though none of them have more than a pair of non-penalty goals.

Rico Henry (LWB) - The scorer of two goals in his first 129 Brentford appearances has netted as many in his past four Premier League outings.

3. Forwards

Bryan Mbeumo (ST) - No Premier League player has underperformed their expected goals (xG) tally by a larger margin than Brentford's wasteful and unlucky (he's hit the woodwork a league-high seven times) forward - scoring just twice from an xG of 4.4 (per FBref).

Ivan Toney (ST) - Brentford's only Premier League ever-present has, despite his penalty-inflated team-leading goal tally, been far more effective at providing chances for his teammates rather than getting on the end of them himself.
