Brentford predicted lineup vs Leeds United - Premier League

Brentford end their first season of top-flight football with a home game against Leeds United on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas Frank described Brentford's very participation in the competition as "a minor miracle" - and that was before his side earned their 13th league win of the season.

Here's the XI Frank may deploy as the club are guaranteed to earn Brentford's highest top-flight finish since 1938.

David Raya (GK) - Since returning from injury, Raya has kept five clean sheets in his six home appearances.

Kristoffer Ajer (RB) - The flexible centre-back-cum-full-back scored on his previous outing at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Pontus Jansson (CB) - Brentford's club captain is yet to beat Leeds since leaving the Yorkshire outfit for west London in 2019.

Mads Bech Sorensen (CB) - After a dreadful showing last weekend that was mercifully concluded at half-time, Sorensen may be granted another chance by default as Ethan Pinnock is still out injured.

Rico Henry (LB) - The wingback's winner against Everton earned him a career-high tally of three goals across a single league campaign, bettering his pair while playing for Walsall in League One six years ago.

Vitaly Janelt (CM) - The club's third-top scorer this season came on as a centre-back against Everton last weekend but could be restored to a more familiar midfield role.

Christian Norgaard (CM) - The Supporters' and Players' Player of the Year has chipped in with a healthy seven direct goal involvements (three goals, four assists).

Christian Eriksen (CM) - Brentford's season saviour hasn't started a Premier League defeat at his new home ground since joining the club this winter.

Bryan Mbeumo (RW) - Aside from the goal he created against Leeds, six of Mbeumo's team-high seven assists have come in 2022.

Ivan Toney (ST) - The scoring rate of Brentford's leading goal-getter has doubled since Eriksen made his first start in March.

Yoane Wissa (LW) - Despite making just 11 Premier League starts this term, the former Lorient forward has scored seven top-flight goals, forming another example of Brentford's successful recruitment from French football in particular.
