Brentford predicted lineup vs Man City - Premier League

Brentford return to Premier League action this week as they head north to face reigning champions and league leaders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Thomas Frank's Bees were knocked out of the FA Cup at the weekend as a result of a heavy defeat to Everton and have lost four in a row in the Premier League coming into this one.

Here's a look at the starting XI the manager could pick...

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

David Raya (GK) - Endured a shaky return from injury against Everton but expected to keep his place ahead of January signing Jonas Lossl.

Kristoffer Ajer (CB) - The Norwegian has five starts under his belt this calendar year after missing a lot of games in November and December.

Ethan Pinnock (CB) - Missed out at the weekend but is expected to return in place of Mads Bech Sorensen.

Pontus Jansson (CB) - The captain has missed only eight minutes of Premier League football this season.

2. Midfielders & wing-backs

Mads Roerslev Rasmussen (RWB) - The young Dane has become a regular feature on the right flank since the start of December.

Shandon Baptiste (CM) - Has rotated in and out of the team in recent weeks but only appeared off the bench at the weekend and so could start here.

Mathias Jensen (CM) - In from the start against Everton and could land his first Premier League start since facing Manchester United.

Christian Norgaard (CM) - Missed the reverse fixture against City in December but it otherwise almost guaranteed to play 90 minutes.

Rico Henry (LM) - Working his way back in after missing a handful of games in December. Started against Everton.

3. Forwards

Sergi Canos (ST) - With Bryan Mbeumo still a doubt after missing the last match with Covid-19, the Spaniard could continue to deputise.

Ivan Toney (ST) - Has scored in his last three appearances in all competitions and will take that confidence into this one.
