Brentford predicted lineup vs Southampton - Premier League

Brentford welcome Southampton to their bus stop in Hounslow for an end of season Premier League clash.

The Bees went unbeaten in April despite playing Chelsea, West Ham and Tottenham, collecting ten points from a possible 12. Manchester United may have dented their form with a 3-0 win at Old Trafford on Monday but Brentford have hit that mystical 40-point barrier with three games of the campaign still to play.

Here's the lineup Thomas Frank may deploy as Brentford's focus shifts towards the teams above, rather than below, them.

David Raya (GK) - The Spain international hasn't conceded a top flight goal at the Brentford Community in more than five hours of Premier League football.

Kristoffer Ajer (CB) - The club's record signing has lost more games (ten) than he's won (seven) but insists: "I love every single minute at Brentford."

Pontus Jansson (CB) - The club captain racked up his 100th appearance for Brentford against Manchester United on Monday night.

Mads Bech Sorensen (CB) - While Ethan Pinnock's fitness is in doubt, Frank may once again turn to his 23-year-old compatriot.

Mads Roerslev (RWB) - The 22-year-old wingback is one of eight Danish players to have featured for Brentford this season - only five Englishman have earned a Premier League minute for the Bees this term.

Vitaly Janelt (CM) - Only two teammates have more Premier League goals than Janelt this season - one of which came in the reverse fixture at St Mary's.

Christian Norgaard (CM) - Frank's "late bloomer" has made more tackles than any other player in Europe's top five leagues this season.

Christian Eriksen (CM) - After six unbeaten starts, Brentford fell to their first defeat with Eriksen in the opening XI on Monday night.

Rico Henry (LWB) - Rated as "one of the best defensive full-backs this season" by his manager even after conceding Brentford's third penalty of the campaign on Monday.

Bryan Mbeumo (ST) - Since joining the club in 2019, Mbeumo has provided 24 league assists, ten more than the team's next most prolific provider.

Ivan Toney (ST) - Blackpool's DJ Campbell was the last player to score more than Toney's 12 goals for a club in their first-ever season of Premier League football.
