Brentford release Willock and Fitzgerald

Last night Brentford held their first fans forum of the season, it was designed to be a podum for fans to ask questions to the new manager and also the chairman. A wide range of topics was discussed including, the team, the proposed stadium and also the proposed 'five year plan' for the club.


As well as fielding the questions Rosenior announced that he still has several transfer targets in mind, one is Australian trialist Adam Griffiths who he took a look at during the weekends game with Staines Town. During the game there were also appearences from Paul Smith, who was released earlier last month and Nathan Abbery, Dave Lawrence and Thomas Pinault however it is not known whether they interested the manager enough to bring them to the club on a permenant basis.

He did however reveal to then fans that due to the signings of Chris Moore and Joe Kuffour he has made Scott Fitzgerald and Calum Willock available on free transfers.

Both strikers have played bit part roles since joining the club, Fitzgerald initially joined on loan scoring the winning goal that put Brentford in the playoffs in 2005 but after signing at the beginning of the next season he was unable to break his way into the first team and was loaned out during 2005/06.

Willock joined from Peterborough after the sale of DJ Campbell to Birmingham and his only goal came in a 3-1 win against Swindon last season.
Rosenior has confirmed he will allow both players to leaveshould a club come in for them.
